These EXCLUSIVE details about Prabhas’ Saaho will make you eager for the film : Bollywoodlife.com

After the super success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, all eyes are on what Prabhas‘ next will be. While we all know that the actor is currently focusing all his attention on his upcoming film, Saaho. Despite so much speculations not much is known about the movie as yet.

However, we have a hot scoop for you that cannot be missed. We had seen a futuristic city in the first teaser of Saaho, right? But, wait there’s more! Prabhas’ Saaho also has a colonial connection and you will see a few scenes from the pre-Independence era.

Currently, Saaho is being shot at a huge set created inside Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. As a source reveals to us exclusively, “The team of Saaho has taken over a huge garden area in Ramoji Film City and are shooting a few crucial scenes over the past few days. The scene shows the actors present in a colonial India with British flags all around the ground. 100 plus horses have been brought to the set and a huge action sequence with them is going to be shot. Currently, everyone is undertaking training and choreographing the battle. A shot of a game of polo was also shot yesterday.”

Talking about the costumes for this particular sequence, our source further added, “The actors will be seen wearing traditional royal kurta, pyjamas like how Maharajas used to wear. The Britishers, on the other hand, will be seen in Khaki uniforms or colourful pant and shirts.”

Earlier, we had also revealed to you how Anushka Shetty was to reunite with Prabhas for this film, but seems like the makers decided to drop the actress and chose a fresh pairing with Shraddha Kapoor due to the former’s weight issues.

Anyway, coming back to the story, with a colonial and futuristic India being shown in Saaho, we wonder if the movie is a reincarnation genre? Well, considering that Prabhas has managed to taste great success with double role, this double treat will also be lapped up by the actor’s fans.

Baahubali 2 | 100 Days and 1700 Crores

It wouldn't be a hyperbole to say that the Indian film business will henceforth be divided into the pre- and post-Baahubali 2 era. Since the SS Rajamouli directed follow-up to 2015's Baahubali: The Beginning released on 28 April 2017, it created a storm at the Indian and overseas box offices, the likes of which hadn't been seen before.

The film has now completed an epic 100-day run at Indian theatres. Across Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and the NCR region, Baahubali 2 still has at least one show playing, more than three months after its release. Some Kerala theatres too are marking the film's 100-day run.

Meanwhile, the Prabhas-Rana Daggubati-Anushka Shetty starrer has also been made available to view on Netflix.

When Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (also spelt as Bahubali 2) released this April, the list of highest-grossing films had PK in the top spot, with global earnings of roughly Rs 790 crore. Another Aamir Khan-starrer, Dangal (released in December 2016) had the second place with slightly under Rs 750 crore in worldwide box office collections (excluding China and Taiwan).

The mania around Baahubali 2's release was unprecedented. Part I — The Beginning — had made around Rs 650 crore (it is still the fourth-highest earning Indian movie of all time); The Conclusion was expected to match that figure, at the very least.

What happened when Baahubali 2 opened in theatres, however, was beyond the wildest dreams of any trade analyst. Clocking up an impressive Rs 40+ crore on its first day, its box office collections crossed the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of its opening weekend. One benchmark after another was set, and it became the first Indian film to gross over Rs 1,000 crore.

It was also — until Dangal's release in China this May — India's top-earning film. At the end of its 100-day theatre run, Baahubali 2's worldwide box office figures stand at a little under the Rs 1,700-crore mark. The Hindi version of the film has collected nearly Rs 510 crore while the all-India gross collections of all versions comes up to an astounding Rs 1,380 crore.

Since Baahubali 2 and Dangal's gravity-defying feat at the box office, no Indian film has managed to match up to their benchmark. Salman Khan's Tubelight was pitched as a challenger, but faltered.

Now the expectations have shifted to big-ticket films like Randamoozham, Ramayana, 2.0, Kaala and Thugs of Hindostan to possibly generate the same sort of euphoria for the trade.

Baahubali: The Conclusion, The 'Pride Of Indian Cinema', Is Now 100-Days-Old

Baahubali: The Conclusion released across on April 28. Even after 100 days of its release, the film is still running successfully

Baahubali: The Conclusion released across 8,000 screens on April 28. Even after 100 days of its release, the film is still going strong. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Baahubali 2 is the 'pride of Indian cinema.' The epic fantasy directed by SS Rajamouli, stars Prabhas in the lead role of Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali and Rana Daggubati as Bhallala Deva. The film grossed over Rs. 1,500 crore globally and still counting. Baahubali 2 shattered major box office records and received 100% opening during the initial weeks. It's still running in the theatres despite other major releases. Baahubali: The Conclusion is the second part of the series. Part one, Baahubali: The Beginning, released in July 2015.

Karan Johar, who is in charge of the Hindi version of the film, expressed his happiness on Twitter and wrote:
After completing 50 days at the theatres, the official Twitter handle of Baabubali revealed that the film is still running across 1,050 screens across India. (It's a record). It is also the first Indian film to cross the 1,000-crore mark worldwide. Baabubali 2 is expected to release in China this September.
Baahubali series tracks the story of rivalry between two mighty princes (Prabhas and Rana) of Mahishmathi kingdom and a warrior slave Katappa, played by Sathyaraj. Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty and Tamannnaah Bhatia are also part of the series. Baahubali: The Beginning ended with Katappa's revelation that he killed Amarendra Baahubali. Baahubali: The Conclusion takes the story forward from where the first part ended and finally to why Katappa killed Baahubali. (Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyu maara).
